Ah, that explains the radio silence! It was a combination of blood, sweat, tears, and various viscera to make this a reality, but the time has come. I'm kinda at a loss for words, to be honest; this is probably my largest, craziest project so far, and it's finally out! It's not restricted or limited like your usual demo, but it's still too early on to call it a proper 1.0 version. Calling it early access feels... pretentious? For now, let's call this one a simple 'release.' This journey is far from over, but the foot is lodged firmly in the door.
No more dawdling! Check out the itch.io page and download the gotdang thang!!!
Right now, there's two official servers for you to jump right into from the get-go! If you're not quite ready to do battle over the world wide web, you can also play offline with bots!
FAQ
Is this the final game?
Oh HELL no. This release is fairly solid, but much of the planned content was cut down to get a basic foundation playable by the general populace. There's a ton of maps, gamemodes, weapons, characters, etc. that didn't make it into this build, and that's not counting the stuff that hasn't been made yet!
Do I need the itch App?
Technically, no. You don't require the itch App to open or play the game, but it does provide the convenience of staying up-to-date without having to manually stay updated, as the itch App automatically handles updating for you. If you are uncomfortable with using the itch App, you can manually download updates from the itch.io page!
Do I need to download anything besides Tomb Fetus?
Nope! Everything Tomb Fetus needs and uses is included with the download. For those unfamiliar with the Doom engine, you needn't worry!
How will the game update? How often?
For those familiar with my previous projects, I've usually done things by major versions with huge updates, minor versions with QoL changes, and hotfixes that fix up bugs. This is somewhat acceptable for the other projects (with the exception of having to wait annually for proper Doom Delta and Unseen Evil updates). However, Tomb Fetus is a different beast! Unlike the more intimate singleplayer/co-op projects, bugs can be more devastating, and iffy balancing can affect more than just one player. Combine this with two things; the foundation of the game is finally laid out, and there's a ton of stuff still waiting to see the light of day. With all this in mind, updates for Tomb Fetus will follow a new standard; hotfixes will be timely, and there'll be (relatively) frequent smaller content updates featuring new maps, characters, weapons, and gamemodes! I can't promise anything specific, but new maps will be a lot more frequent than stuff like new weapons and new characters.
How do I report bugs and issues?
If you've got bugs to report or suggestions to suggest, hop on over to the issue repository! Please avoid from posting bug reports in the Discord, as that'll make it harder to keep track of.
Discord?
Right here! Don't get too rowdy or I'll have to kill you.

Well, here we are, at the end of the blog post! Thank you for your patience, and I hope to see you in the arena!
